In the evening, makeup can go darker and more dramatic than during the day, because it is less visible. In order to have a more noticeable, sultry look then you have to do a slightly darker makeup. The smokey eye is perfect for the evening, it draws attention to your eyes and it makes you look more sexy. Another perfect evening look can be achieved by using a burgundy or red lipstick and just liquid eyeliner on the eyelids, maybe add some false lashes and mascara.
